Packaging & Delivery

Your order will arrive lovingly packaged in branded Fresh West Silver boxes perfect for gifting. I always strive to source the most environmentally friendly packaging available for my jewellery boxes, business cards/labels and postal packaging.

My current packaging is an eco-friendly mix of recycled and FSC certified cardboard.. Business cards are recycled and recyclable. I post in cardboard boxes that will fit through your letterbox and again are fully plastic-free and recyclable.

I send out orders by the end of the following business day after the order is placed.

Free 1st class or Special Delivery postage options are available. Orders over £120 must be sent by Special Delivery for insurance purposes.

There is no paper invoice included in the package as these are provided automatically to the email address, if you would like a note included to the recipient please enter it in the notes field or email me afterwards.

Quality & Hallmarking

I only use sterling and fine silver and 9ct gold in all my designs including all chains and findings.

I have always used eco recycled sterling silver and gold wherever possible. In practice, this currently means all the sheet, wire & solder that I buy to make my jewellery is 100% recycled.  I have always been committed to using recycled metals wherever they are currently available on the market. I also recycle a lot of my own metal to use in my original designs.

Single pieces over 7.78g, the legal threshold for a single item, are hallmarked by the London Assay Office.

My mark consists of my 3 initials HJR, the traditional fineness symbol for sterling silver – Lion Passant, the fineness mark 925, the leopards head for the London Assay Office and the date letter for the year.

Care Instructions

All Sterling Silver will naturally discolour/darken over time (tarnish), this is a sign of the quality of the silver. This can be removed by immersing in silver dip (I find that sea glass is fine to be dipped – but some gemstones & pearls are not). This works particularly well on chains, which are otherwise hard to brighten up.

Alternatively, a small silver polishing cloth can be used to buff the silver back to bright & shiny or pieces can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and a little bit of washing up liquid.

Silver pieces can discolour quicker or react to some chemicals so please treat your jewellery with care and remove while swimming, bathing, or overly immersing in liquids, such as washing up.

Sea glass can darken and become dirty over time especially when worn against the skin, it can also lose its frosty appearance as it is absorbing oils and moisture from your skin. It will greatly benefit from a regular quick brush (a child’s toothbrush is ideal!) with a little soap/washing up liquid & this will also help prevent tarnish from building up on the silver elements.

I am happy to clean your Fresh West Silver jewellery for free when you cover the return postage to me. Please email me for details.

If any repairs become necessary, I will repair my jewellery for free or a small charge, depending on the issue. I want you to wear your Fresh West Silver jewellery happily for years to come!

Returns & Exchanges

You may return an item for a full refund by contacting me within 14 days of delivery. Please get in touch by email or phone so I can provide a return postage address & expect your parcel. Buyer is responsible for return postage. On receipt of the item, I will refund the purchase price via the original payment method.

You may also exchange your item via the same process.

I will exchange chains (length/style) for requests made within this 14 day period. I cannot replace broken chains after this period. I only charge cost price for the chains within the price of my pieces and as they are manufactured chains, and although of good quality, I cannot guarantee them or replace them after this period. Most of my pieces are made to be able to be hung on many styles of chain, I can provide recommendations of places to purchase new chains on request.

I cannot accept returns on items that have been custom made or personalised (unless faulty).

Earrings cannot be returned for hygiene reasons.
